Clariant and Floreon will develop biopolymers with improved properties
06/15/2020

The Swiss firm Clariant has signed an agreement with the British Floreon to generate new biopolymers with improved properties.

Clariant has stabilizing additives, flame retardants or that improves the processing or finishing of polymers. Floreon has a 70-90% PLA based material, which is compostable under industrial conditions and also recyclable, and which is 4 times stronger than conventional PLA. The union of the capabilities of one company and another will allow the development of new renewable materials with advanced properties that can be used, for example, in both single-use and reusable packaging.
