Sainsbury's, first UK supermarket to vacuum pack minced meat to reduce plastic use

Replacement for traditional trays. Reduction of 55% of plastic per package. Savings of 450 tons per year. It will vacuum pack all its minced meats in 500-gram formats.
Same amount of meat but less space in fridge and freezer. Sainsbury's wants to halve the plastic packaging of its own brand. |
