100% biobased plastic by Avantium and Toyobo shows enhances barrier properties.

Avantium and Toyobo have jointly developed a 100% biobased plastic film by employing Avantium YXY technology. The resulting PEF films are about 10 microns thick and very transparent, and will have applications in packaging for food or electronic devices among others. This new PEF films have enhanced oxygen and water vapour barrier properties when compared with PET, and also, they show advanced mechanical properties. |
