Researchers develop a film that self-sterilizes with visible light

Plastic film that is capable of eliminating viruses from its surface only through the incidence of visible light.
It is cheap to produce, its production can be scaled and it would be suitable for application in different fields. The film is covered with a thin layer of UV light absorbing particles that generate oxygen radicals that kill viruses. This same technology ensures that the films do not degrade. |
