Microfoaming: Sustainable packaging for Rio 2016.

Dow is the official chemical company of Rio 2016. One of their target objectives if to generate an impact on society about the importance of reducing CO2 emissions, and how to achieve this objective through the use of sustainable packaging. Hence, Dow invites packaging producers to employ their microfoaming technology with the aim of contributing to the objective of reducing in 500.000 tons the CO2 emissions.
Microfoaming is technique that can be used for the fabrication of flexible packaging (stand-up pouches; laminated films of PE, PET PET, PE and BOPP…). The microfoaming technique results in a greater number of packages per kg of polymer, so it give rise to lighter containers, which also show better mechanical and sealing properties. |
