The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture (MAPAMA) is working on the "Royal Decree Project on Reducing the Consumption of Plastic Bags and Establishing the Register of Producers of Products (REPP)". The EU offers many alternatives to the Member States, including the setting of national reduction targets, the introduction of economic instruments and, where appropriate, restrictions on their marketing, provided that all these measures are taken in accordance with the principle of proportionality and are non-discriminatory.
