I work with vitrimers, which combine the advantages of the rigid and the flexible ones. Rigid at room temperature and malleable at 150 ºC. They are evaluating properties and molecular work to make them translucent. They could improve recyclability or generate food packaging that is more resistant, safe and sustainable.
On the other hand, saloplastics. Bio-based, they disintegrate in salt water. Work is being done to improve their mechanical properties. |
