Toppan uses supercritical fluids to develop low thickness and high resistance injected packaging

Thanks to supercritical fluids and a proprietary injection technology, they obtain packaging 30% thinner than conventional injection molded plastic. Thickness can be minimized in thermoforming but it is less versatile than injection.
Filling is improved by dissolving the resin in supercritical fluid. Thickness reduction from 0.5 to 0.35 mm. This allows reducing plastic consumption by up to 30%. Bioplastics could be injected. |
