Styrenics Circular Solutions demonstrates that rPS can be used in contact with food

Styrenics Circular Solutions together with Fraunhofer has shown that it is possible
mechanically recycle PS and eliminate impurities that originate in the waste Has submitted a request to EFSA for its authorization for use with food.
The technology used presents a high cleaning efficiency. The PS presents low
diffusion, less probability of impurity inside. It has already been tried to transform the rPS by FFS and on different variants.
Several packaging variants are possible: monomaterial, coextrusion of r-PS with virgin polystyrene or use of recycling as an intermediate layer between virgin polystyrene (A-B-A). |
