PET bottle produced from waste marine bottles

Ioniqa, a chemical recycling company, in collaboration with The Coca-Cola Company, has performed a proof of concept where they were produced 300 PET bottles suitable for human consumption, using partially packaging waste from the Mediterranean Sea.
By means of the depolymerization technology from Ioniqa, it is possible to obtain the necessary building blocks for producing a new virgin material.
For this proof of process, the bottles contained a 25% of PET from sea packaging waste. |
