PET plastic has a medium gas barrier that is often insufficient for certain packaging applications. Clariant has just released a new additive presenting oxygen scavenging properties and that is suitable for PET.
The company identifies this new additive as especially interesting for the packaging of juices, which are susceptible to oxidation and, therefore, are not properly preserved in PET bottles. |
