New grade of the compostable plastic MATER-BI for extrusion-coating

The Italian company Novamont, presented a new grade for the starch based polymer MATER-BI for extrusion coating and extrusion lamination. The new grade is designed for the application on paper, carton board or other substrates like polymeric films. It has been improved the stability, coating thickness and processing speed (comparable to LDPE). It has been also improved the adhesion on the surfaces.
The grade can be used for the production of catering glasses, dishes or other food grade packaging and can be used for the microwave oven. It has been improved fats and oils resistance. The MATER_BI new grade application on paper and carton board permits the industrial composting according to EN 13432, and it also permits the paper recycling. |
